Michelle Obama's Great Performance at DNC

An inspired speech from first lady Michelle Obama Tuesday night excited the 20,000 attendees of the Democratic National Convention in Charlottepic and the millions watching across the nation. The length and conviction of what she spoke about emphasized the geniune adoration that the president and she have for the powerful role that the people have entrusted Mr. Obama with. In front of bright lights, cameras and attentive eyes, she shined the stage by expressing the values that America is based upon such as working hard not solely for the sake of money but because their is a job to get done. She offered several testimonies of the American people representing what has effected her so greatly these last four years such as the outreach of people helping others and kindness bestowed upon the Obama family. The compassion that she's witnessed by the nation doing it's part is consequentional in making our society great.

The humble beginnings that her and Barak were raised in, tell a heart wrenching story of Michelle and her brother while Barak with a half sister were from families that sometimes merely had the means to provide a suitable upbringing. Obama was raised by just his mother and his grandmother after his father's early returrn to Kenya. Being from grandparents that were of the WWII generation and living in Hawaii the grandmother stepped in and ensured Barak's preparation for school and then would procede to arrive at her job as an administrative bank employee each day. It was often a struggle to support the basic necessities like food on the table and a roof over their head but the collective effort was able to provide.

For Michelle, the determination that was shown by her parents was exemplified by her father who sadly was afflicted with Multiple Sclerosis. He would rise each day going about his routine of getting ready for work and fulfilling the fatherly role that he foresaw as the primary income contributor as he worked as a city water pump operator. Michelle described the relentlessness of her father's assistance to provide the financial needs for the children to pay their college bills that weren't covered by student loans. The family made sure to submit their payments before each deadline even if his job was behind on giving him his pay. It was truly a top notch example of two families that struggled with great difficulties but with compassion, unhindered vision and hard work were able to secure a better position for themselves through education.

By the time Michelle and Barak had met, they understood the adversity that the other had gone through from their own family's personal hardship. Humorously during the speech, she commented on the ragged car that Obama used to take her out on dates with and his prized possession which was a coffee table that he had found in a trash can. The student loans shared among them were exorbitant and the experience of confronting the financial burden of student debt is one reason for the president's fight to keep the interest rates for the nation low over the last four years.

The speech personalized the real life situations that the first couple had had to endure with what it means to be a middle class American, persisting to make a way for yourself. The value system which she exclaimed as the heart and soul of American society brings incredible pride and is so firmly possessed by Barak and Michelle as what leads the president to make decisions. On the issues of policy that she touched on, the automotive bailouts was a measure of hard working Americans who needed to get back on their feet. The healthcare bill is about ensuring that people don't go broke from having suffered an injury or other medical condition. Giving women the equality they deserve in every aspect of life in addition to workplace mobility is the impetus behing the Lilly Leadbetter Equal Pay Act, named for the Alabama factory employee who fought to the Supreme Court and spoke Tuesday night. Also the right for females to make their own decisions on contraception being a priority for the president.

She stated that when the data, reports, and political advisors all don't offer a definitive answer, the president has the moral turpitude and wisdom to base these decisions appropriately. Being president, she said doesn't change who you are, it reveals who you are as she has come to discover during these four years. As he has shown a remarkable character for the first term, he isn't about to cede the responsibility of work that still very much needs to be done. She offered these reasons for Americans to take to the polls again and show the support for moving forward as Obama is prepared to accomplish further improvements for our country.

Prior to her speech a mother of children who had been wounded while serving in the armed forces, spoke about the proud sacrifice of her children fighting for the country. Providing an unquestionable financial and emotional support for returning forces is a foremost agenda for the United States under Barak Obama.

The commentators who gave their opinion after the speech provided high praise as this being one of the best, most applicable testaments to the life issues that so many of us face at some point. The resolve and dedication that the president has to further achieve the best for this country was clearly expressed by the president's wife last night.
