Obama On Code!

At the end of last year a short video that turned into a small viral hit featured President Obama on the subject of American's interest for technology. During the minute and a half long statement, he attentively confronts the public in encouraging those of us with the slightest inclination of curiosity for the interworkings of the web to devote time towards learning it.

This technology is unquestionably a critical, all encompassing fixture to everyone’s life these days. Thus it seems quite worthwhile for many if not all of us who rely upon all of which this technology has been able to provide over the last few decades, to at least invest a small amount of time in understanding how some of it works.

The president particularly seemed to have had at mind the interests of inquisitive, self-motivated people who are able to perceive the benefits in spending part of one’s routine to learning a bit about this rather complex informational world.

So for those that did view the You Tube video, hopefully it’s message was heeded and curious minds got to work on expanding upon this realm of infinite knowledge. For those that already possess the ability to create and improve web app technology, then may the telecast have offered further persuasion to get on with their work even more. Upon watching the clip, I felt a slight feeling of validation for the work that I’ve invested on this particular website. It certainly is a somewhat rewarding notion to have atleast a moderate understanding of how web pages or mobile apps function in providing the integration for this 21st Century world that we live in.

This country stands among the best of talented groups of people, companies, universities and do it your selfers who have dramatically influenced the technological capabilities that exist today. It’s a positive sign for assuring ourselves as capable and determined citizens to be challenged by our nation’s leader to go and pursue such interests that may help facilitate improvements for our individual future and that of the world.

The only drawback that I foresaw upon viewing the Obama clip was the vulnerability for potential jarring that he was likely to receive from any of the several evening comedy show hosts. Surely an all too easy monologue joke could have been made alluding to a behind the scenes agenda for the President’s message. The most obvious would have been a plea for the people to help resolve the government’s own IT blunder of the dysfunctional ObamaCare website. Certainly Jimmy Kimball or Letterman may have said something such as, ’Americans take this opportunity to learn some programming logic that may patch the issue with the online health care platform because god knows the government doesn’t have the answer.”

But surely, Obama’s intention was rather a confident gesture for people to simply become more knowledgeable. Thus it suffices to take that advice and develop some exciting new ideas. Below is a clip of the video and an added bonus sure to make you laugh!
